Delete Your Account
Your right to erasure is fundamental to us. Here is how to delete your RealMeet account, what happens when you do, and how we handle your data.
Delete in the app
- Open Settings — In the RealMeet app, tap your profile picture, then tap "Settings".
- Go to Account — Select "Account" and then "Delete Account".
- Confirm your choice — Review what will be deleted, then confirm your decision. A confirmation email will be sent to your registered address.
- Permanently deleted — Your account is immediately deactivated and permanently deleted within 30 days.
What gets deleted
- Your profile, photos, and bio
- All matches and messages
- Your preferences and settings
- Processed verification data
- All associated activity data
What may be retained
- Transaction records for tax obligations (for the legally required retention period)
- Moderation logs if your account was involved in an investigation or law-enforcement request
- Anonymised aggregate data that cannot be traced back to you
- Data that must be retained to comply with legal obligations
Processing timeline
Your account is permanently deleted within 30 days of confirming the deletion request. Live selfie verification images are deleted immediately or per our data retention policy — whichever comes first. You will receive a confirmation email once your account has been fully deleted.
Delete by email
If you are unable to complete the in-app deletion or need assistance, send a deletion request to privacy@real-meet.de with the subject line "Account Deletion Request" and your registered email address. We will process your request within 30 days.
Your right to erasure (GDPR Article 17)
As a user in the EU, you have the right to request deletion of your personal data — the "right to be forgotten". RealMeet respects this right and processes deletion requests promptly. Limitations may apply where data must be retained to fulfil legal obligations.
App Store compliance
Apple requires that apps provide a simple in-account method for account deletion. RealMeet complies with this requirement through the in-app deletion flow described above. If you experience issues with the in-app flow, contact us at privacy@real-meet.de.
